THE MEMORIAL FUNDS EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
BACKGROUND: The Educational Scholarship Committee was established on June 25, 1992 by action by the session and was made a part of the Memorial Funds Committee by approval of session on October 25, 2005. It was renamed The Memorial Funds Educational Scholarships. PURPOSE: The Memorial Funds Educational Scholarships are designated to be used by LCOP members seeking financial aid to further their education beyond high school. The scholarships are for those who have demonstrated Christian commitment through LCOP membership as well as participation and service within the church. Scholarships are available for undergraduate, graduate or seminary education in a bona fied educational institution. AMOUNT: A limited number of scholarships are available per year. Grants are made for a maximum per applicant of $750 per quarter or $1,250 per semester. RECIPIENTS ARE REQUIRED TO: (l) Provide the Memorial Funds Committee with a written acknowledgement of the receipt of the scholarship. (2) Be willing to share with the congregation, orally or in writing, progress made with the help of the scholarship. HOW TO APPLY: Complete the Application Form and either bring it to the LCOP office or mail it to the address on the form at least one month before the date the tuition is due. Revised 04/11
